Hey there fashionistas! So other than my oily combination skin I also have really bad oily roots, so lately I’ve been trying to find products to try and help me out and not make me wash my hair every second day or use dry shampoo so much.
I stumbled on the L’oréal Elvive Extraordinary Clay, Detox Clay and their Rebalancing shampoo and conditioner that belonged in the same line. This is one of the newish products that has recently come out and this is aimed at people with oily roots and dry ends. Which this screams me.
So this product claims to keep your roots oil-free and give you hydrated ends for up to 48 hours. The line has the basic shampoo and conditioner but the magic starts with the pre-shampoo treatment, the clay mask.
This clay mask is amazing, as long as you get past the jelly-like texture when you first use this product and the very, very sweet smell, but don’t worry the smell does disappear after it’s on your hair for the 5 minutes that the product recommends to be left on.
This product is aimed at people who suffer from oily hair, but can also be used by people with color treated hair also. However, I don’t think this would be the product for people with dry roots, because it may take away too much of your natural oils of your hair make it drier than normal, and that is not something we want.
After trying this product out for myself for the last month I can go to about three days without a hair wash and a quick spray of dry shampoo in the front of the roots and everything looks fine for another couple of days. Probably not the greatest thing for my hair hygiene, but when your hair takes forever to dry out as it gets longer like mine, you too will do anything to avoid the whole drama altogether.
I do recommend using all three of the products together because I did try the mask on without the shampoo and conditioner and it did not work as well as it did when I tried it with the shampoo and conditioner.
This product has also helped with my heavy dandruff problem that I have for years. although this product doesn’t say anything about helping out with that problem my salon told me that I only have dandruff because I have oily roots. Since this has stopped that excess oil from clogging my sclap causing my scalp to flack thus leading to dandruff, I don’t have to worry too much about that problem anymore.
That is all for now, as usual, leave a comment down below if you have tried out this product yourself and your thoughts on it and until next time – xoxo Fashionista
